Waterpik Waterfloss

Image 1. Click to open in original size.

I'm not entirely sure that this counts as a gadget per se, but I got this recently!

I always forget to buy dental floss, and saw that a waterfloss is actually more helpful, so I decided to invest in one of these.

Luckily I got a discount on it, so I only paid £44 for it instead of 55, but the difference in my gum health has been drastic!

Does this replace your flossing string then?

#1 Yes! In theory you will never need to buy string again. The water (or whatever you put into it) is strong enough that it quite literally 'jets' in between your teeth.

#0: That definitely counts as a gadget! 🙂 I have been searching for another solution than flossing string but didn't find any. Do you know if the results from this have been compared professionally to traditional flossing? I would like it to be at least as good if I were to quit the thread flossing for this.

#3 I have found some reviews on it, and the company themselves say they have researched it and found it more beneficial than manual flossing. However I would take that with a pinch of salt, as you never know.

I guess this might work better for my boyfriend since he has permanent retainers, he never flosses because its too much effort. This might be easier for him.

What're retainers in this context?

In his mouth, he has metal and some plastic (I think) that is permanently set in order to prevent his teeth from moving. He got them after he had braces. It’s really common to get after braces. I myself had braces and asked for this but my dental office didn’t offer it so I had a retainer that I had to wear every day for a year. But my teeth moved regardless and it wouldn’t fit so I couldn’t wear it anymore. Now I need braces again. 🙄

#9 I have the same situation… kinda Laughing out loud I was told to wear a retainer and I did for a while, but then my dog ate it after finding it one day. So now I am where I was before!

OMG hahah how does a dog eat one of those! Laughing out loud

Such a bummer I really don't want to pay to fix my bottom teeth but its causing issues with my gums.

#12 Grit, determination, and me being clumsy Laughing It wasn't long after we got the dog, so I didn't think to leave things out of reach. Suddenly I see half of my retainer hanging out of the dogs mouth Laughing out loud
